The Royal Dottyback is a species of Dottyback found in Tap Tap Fish: Abyssrium. They are the thirty-second species listed on the Saltwater Tank's Normal Fish list, and the first Dottyback.
Appearance[]
The Royal Dottyback has a very simple color pattern of yellow and a hot pink color. The hot pink is seen from its head to around halfway down its body, and the yellow extends from there to its tail fins. At certain angles, its entire body flashes an iridescent hot pink, the same color that is seen on its head. Its fins are yellow, but share this same iridescent property.

To unlock the Royal Dottyback, the player must own any combination of 5 Angels and own Orange Cup Coral. It is unlocked at the same time as the Orchid Dottyback and the Diadem Dottyback.
The Royal Dottyback counts toward the Dottyback total, helping to unlock Butterflies.
Biology[]
The Royal Dottyback is most likely based on the Blue-Eyed Royal Dottyback, a captive-bred fish popular in aquariums. It is exceedingly aggressive, protecting caves against fish up to two or three times its size[1]. In aquariums, it eats frozen and meaty foods,including shrimp and specific foods engineered to enhance its coloration.
